This 3-hour guided tour takes you deep into the lush green heart of Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park, the biggest national park in Zanzibar islands and the last remaining sanctuary of the endangered Zanzibar Red Colobus Monkey – a species found nowhere else on Earth.
Your adventure begins with a peaceful walk through the forest’s towering mahogany and eucalyptus trees, guided by a friendly local expert who will introduce you to the flora and fauna of the region. Keep your camera ready as the red colobus monkeys often come down from the trees to play, pose, or simply observe their visitors.
Beyond the monkeys, you’ll also have the chance to see other wildlife like blue Sykes’ monkeys, bush babies, chameleons, and a variety of bird species. You’ll also explore the magical mangrove boardwalk, where you’ll learn how this ecosystem protects Zanzibar’s coastline and supports local marine life.
