Day 1 Arrival:
On arrival, our representative will meet you at the airport/ harbour and will see you through to your place of stay. Our top recommendation is a hotel in the heart of Stone Town. Check-in for two nights on a Bed and Breakfast basis.
Day 2 Full day Stone Town historical sites and cruise to the Prison Island
After breakfast, our experienced & certified tour guide will pick you from the hotel and walk with you
through the narrow streets of stone town, the town acknowledged by UNESCO as the World Heritage Site since 2001. Explore and get a real story of the stone town of the most historic sites including the house of wonders (the national museum), old fort, old slave market, fruit and fish market, spice market, bazaar streets, etc without forgetting the Zanzibar carved doors, their roles, and significance.
After lunch, we drive to Kizimbani which is found in west “A” district, about 10 km from Stone Town.
After a delicious breakfast at your hotel, our experienced & certified guide will take you from the hotel and walk with you through the narrow alleys of Stone Town, the town acknowledged by UNESCO as the World Heritage Site since 2001. Explore and get a real story of the Stone Town historical sites and, roles and significance of Zanzibar doors.
After lunch, we will proceed (take ferry) to Prison Island. The Island is one among the uninhabited islets of Zanzibar. The Islet is popular for holiday destination in Zanzibar since it is a home land of giant tortoises which were brought by Sultan Said from Seychelles Islands. On this excursion you can swim and/or do snorkelling in the warm water of the Indian Ocean, sunbathe on the white sand beach and stroll through natural forest to view variety species of beautiful birds such as peacocks, butterflies and small animals such as bats. You will return to your hotel at about 17:00.
Day 3 Full Day Safari Blue – Sea Safari
After breakfast at your hotel, we will drive you to Fumba beach for safari blue adventure. This is a whole day sea adventure tour that gives unquestionably experience to remember in your entire life. The experienced guide will take you with traditional sailing wooden dhows to explore the natural beauty of Menai Bay. The bay is a home of many attractive features and organisms including pristine white sandbanks, sea grasses, pristine coral reefs, tropical fishes, Crystal-clear turquoise water, beautiful uninhabited islets, and bottlenose and humpback species of dolphins. On this excursion we will stop at one of the two pristine sandbanks surrounded by beautiful blue water for swimming and/or snorkelling in the morning. After a blissful and short relaxation on a sandy beach you will be having a lunch at a unique and magnificent island (the Kwale Island) home of natural lagoon and baobab which fell down more than 70 years ago but still alive.
Day 4: Depart from stone town to North East of Zanzibar Island
After breakfast at your hotel, we will drive to Matemwe village located in North-East of Unguja Island. On this Transfer route, you will visit the palace ruins of Maruhubi and Mtoni, Mangapwani Slave Chambers and Natural Coral Cave, and spice plantation also will be en route.
This en route tour gives you a chance to explore the Maruhubi palace ruin which was used as harem to
accommodate Sultan official wife and his more than 90 concubines, while the sultan himself lived at the
palace in Zanzibar Town.
Visiting Mtoni Palace ruins, home and birth place of Princess Sayyida Salme, a Sultan’s daughter who fell in love with German merchant in the late 19thC.
Discover the history of Natural Coral Cave with fresh water at the ground surface and underground man made chambers with roof at the top which were used to hide slaves from mainland before transporting
them to the slave market in Zanzibar town for resale or allocating them to the fruits and spice plantation
Areas.
Discover Spices and tropical fruits at Kizimbani or Kidichi space plantation, learn how to harvest some of them, test and smell various spices and seasonal tropical fruits brought by the sultans of Oman. We will arrive at Matemwe at about 17:30. Check in at your booked hotel.
Day 5 Village Tour – Optional
The tour starts by visiting traditional dhow making site, primary and secondary village schools and aquarium at Nungwi Village. You will then visit the Mchangani village which is found at the center of the island. The tourists get opportunity to learn the life of local community, may test traditional foods and seasonal tropical fruits. We end our tour by visiting the common village for the Zanzibar doors making (Koani Village) to observe how the Zanzibar doors are made. You will return to the hotel about 16:30.
Day 6 Full day swimming with the dolphins and Jozani Forest Adventure
After breakfast at your hotel, you will be driven to Kizimkazi fishing village which is located in southern
region of Unguja Island for Dolphin tour. After a briefing on this excursion, you will be taken to the area with 70% of dolphins’ population, found at Menai Bay, by a motorized boat. If lucky, this excursion might give you an opportunity to swim and play with dolphins when they come near the boat.
After lunch, we will drive you to the home land of red Columbus monkeys at Jozani forest. This species is
rare to be seen in any other part of the world that is why they are endemic to Zanzibar. This tour gives you a chance to view, make fun, and take some photos and videos of red Columbus monkey and other rare species of animals, birds and trees (mangroves) found in the forest. This is the best area to explore once you are in Zanzibar for holidays. Return to your hotel at about 17:30.
Day 7 Transfer from hotel to the Airport/Seaport terminus
We will pick you up at the hotel to our Zanzibar International Airport/Seaport for departure. This marks the end of your package.
